Tamera Young and Victoria Dunlap move from Turkey to Israel

Forward Tamera Young who played the first half of the season with Istanbul University will finish the season with Maccabi Bnot Ashdod. Hapoel Rishon Lezion has signed forward Victoria Dunlap.

As was reported yesterday Young will be replaced at Istanbul University by her Chicago Sky teammate Dominique Canty. Young over the first half of the season averaged 14.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3 assists for Istanbul University.

Before signing Dunlap, Hapoel Rishon Lezion let go of another American forward Ambrosia Anderson. Anderson wasn’t unsigned for long as another Israeli team Elizur Natanya signed her. In 6 games with Lezion Anderson averaged 12 points and 12.5 rebounds per game.

Dunlap started out the season with Optimum TED and averaged 7.6 points and 4 rebounds before being let go due to unsatisfying performance.

Also joining Dunlap at Hapoel Rishon Lezion will be former Tennessee Lady Vol Angie Bjorklund. Bjorklund, drafted by Chicago Sky, appeared in 6 WNBA games this season before being waived. During her 4 seasons with Lady Vols in the NCAA, Bjorklund averaged 11.1 points per game, grabbing 2.6 rebounds and dishing 2.2 assists.

Hapoel Petah Tikva meanwhile announced the signing of Slovenian point guard Katrina Ristic who started her season in Greece with Astir Exarhion averaging 14.2 points and 4.6 assists.
