Adelaide Lightning re-sign Suzy Batkovic

On the eve of playoffs in WNBL, the Adelaide Lightning have re-signed center Suzy Batkovic for the 2012-13 season.

“I am really happy here,” one half of the “Queen Bs” said. “It’s hard living with Abby (Bishop – the other half of the Bs) but everything else is great,” she joked.

The duo have steered Adelaide from ninth last year to within two wins of a sixth championship and Batkovic has been a keyway colossus.

Had she not missed four games with a back injury – and had one dud, as did all of her team last round against Dandenong – she would be unbackable for league MVP.

The Batgirl led the league in scoring with 24.3 points per game, rebounding with 10.9 and, incredibly, steals with 2.38 per game.
