NCAA Tournament – 1st Round, Day 2

NCAA Tournament first round round-up.

The other two #1 rolled through to the second round. Baylor easily beating UC Santa Barbara with Brittney Griner scoring 14 points in the win for Baylor. Skylar Diggins had a relatively quieter game for Notre Dame who rolled past Liberty, though she had 9 rebounds and 6 assists to her 7 points. #2 ranked Duke also had an easy game in their win against Samford.

#3 St.John’s escaped an overtime and a potential upset against Creighton with this last second shot from Nadirah McKenith who finished the game with 21 points.

There weren’t much issues of another #3 ranked team – Delaware, who had their superstar Elena Delle Donne score 39 of their 72 points. She almost outscored the opposing UALR.

Biggest upset of the day was Marist beating the #4 ranked Georgia, behind 21 points from Corielle Yarde. Among other upsets #6 ranked Nebraska fell to Kansas and #8 Ohio State lost to Florida.
