Suprise team of EuroBasket Women 2011, Montenegro, have announced a list of 21 players who are invited to training camp starting on Monday.
Jelena Škerović (Sparta&K, Russia), Iva Perovanović (CCC Polkowice, Poland), Jelena Dubljević (Nadezhda Orenburg, Russia), Ana Baletić (without a team), Milka Bjelica (Wisla Can-Pack, Poland), Anna De Forge (Kayseri KASKI, Turkey), Shay Murphy (Ros Casares, Spain), Ana Turčinović (Faenza, Italy), Nataša Popović (Budućnost-Podgorica, Montenegro), Milica Jovanović (Umbertide, Italy), Snežana Aleksić (Spartak Noginsk, Russia), Maja Milutinović (Mladi Krajišnik, Bosnia and Herzogovina), Sanja Knežević (Mladi Krajišnik, Bosnia and Herzogovina), Jelena Ćulafić (Željezničar, Bosnia and Herzogovina), Marija Vujadinović (Budućnost-Podgorica, Montenegro), Božica Mujović (Budućnost-Podgorica, Montenegro), Maša Stanišić (Roling, Montenegro), Milica Milošev (Budućnost-Podgorica, Montenegro), Jasmina Bigović (Budućnost-Podgorica, Montenegro), Marina Vučetić (Primorje, Montenegro), Biljana Turčinović (Roling, Montenegro).
Interesting case is the one of Shay Murphy who will be also very welcom in Chicago where she’s expected to play for the Sky. If Miodrag Baletić isn’t happy with De Forge as his naturalized player, this could end up like Epiphanny Prince did last year – she was facing a FIBA disqualification after postponing Russian NT duties past the limit. We should know more on Murphy by Sunday when Baletić will hold a press conference.
Montenegro have been drawn in group B against Serbia, Poland, Estonia and Switzerland.
