Updated: Shay Murphy to join Montenegro NT on June 8

Montenegro NT head coach Miodrag Baletic has announced that guard Shay Murphy is expected to join NT practices on June 4.

Murphy is currently under contract and preparing for the first game of the WNBA season with Chicago Sky.

Last season she became Spanish and EuroLeague Women champion with Ros Casares Valencia.

Montenegro will not have Anna de Forge at their disposal this summer, so Murphy will not have any competition for the naturalized player position.

Montenegro have games in the qualification tournament from June 13 to July 11, which means she would miss 11 to 12 games for the Sky.

Montenegro have been drawn in Group B against Poland, Serbia, Estonia and Switzerland.

Updated: As was the case last summer with another Sky player – Epiphanny Prince, Murphy has delayed her arrival 4 days. She is now set to join the team 5 days before the qualifying tournament tips off. One more delay and this has the makings of Epiphanny Prince Saga part 2.

So fiba will suspend her so she cant play vs Montenegrian teams in Euroleague? Oh, montenegro dont have teams in any clubs competitions in Europe…

  She was set to be disqualified for the whole season. Galatasaray paid off Russian so they came up with that stupid disqualification from games with Russian teams.
