Three Stars: Kraayeveld leads a balanced Atlanta Dream effort against Phoenix

LWB’s three stars from last day’s WNBA action.

1st star: Cathrine Kraayeveld, Atlanta Dream
Kraayeveld was perfect from the field – 4 from 4, including 3 from 3 behind the arc for a tied team high 12 points. This was easily her best game of the season, if not previous 2 or 3 seasons.

2nd star: DeWanna Bonner, Phoenix Mercury
Bonner boosted her stats in garbage time aka the second half. In the first one, in which Phoenix basically lost the game, she had only 6 points on 2 from 6 shooting. In the second when the game was decided she racked up additional 16 points for a game high total of 22 points and 10 rebounds.

3rd star: Lindsay Harding, Atlanta Dream
Harding had found her jumpshot last night so she obviously shied away from contact, going 4 from 7 with jumpers and only one layup off an offensive rebound. She finished the game with 10 points and 0 freethrow attempts.

Honorable mentions
Candice Dupree was the only other Mercury player apart from Bonner to end up in double digits… Everyone outside of Courtney Paris scored for the Dream, with 5 players scoring in double digits.

Dishonorable mentions
Yelena Leuchanka had her worst game of the young season, going 0 from 4… Outside of Dupree/Bonner duo the Mercury shot 27% from the game… Angel McCoughtry somehow still thinks she can shoot the three, oh, and she also committed 5 turnovers.

Scores:
Atlanta Dream – Phoenix Mercury 85-61
