Turkish squad Tarsus have announced they have signed one of the all time best Spanish players Amaya Valdemoro.
Valdemoro, nearing the end of her lustrous career, played last two season in Madrid with Rivas Ecopolis. She averaged 4.5 points in ELW last season, playing in just two games 20 or more minutes.
Unfortunately during the last couple of seasons she has suffered more than a fair share of injuries with her remotely last full season being in 2008/09. Last season she broke both wrists in an awkward landing in the first game of EuroLeague Women season.
Over her career she’s the seventh leading scorer in EuroLeague Women with a total of 2204 points, she’s nineteenth in rebounding with 675 rebounds.
She has worn the jersey’s of Dorna Godella, Halcon Viajes, Pool Getafe, Houston Comets, Ros Casares, Unimed Americana, CSKA Samara, Rivas Ecopolis.
Tarsus finished second to last in Turkish league last season and they’ll have to participate in a play-out before the season starts with Istanbul Universitesi, Canik Belediye and Gure Belediyesi to determine the last two teams that will play in TKBL.
