According to Slovenian Basketball Federation, Slovenian guard Teja Oblak has inked a two year deal with Polish side CCC Polkowice. One of her future teammates according to SBF – 2012 WNBA first overall pick Nneka Ogwumike.
Oblak is currently only 21 year old. She played last season for Slovenian champions Athlete Celje where she averaged 16.5 points (54% 2p, 37% 3p), 5 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game in Slovenian league and 18.7 points (58% 2p, 41% 3p), 3.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game in Adriatic league.
Ogwumike was the clear-cut overall number one pick in this year’s WNBA draft and is currently starting on the Los Angeles Sparks roster alongside Candace Parker. She is currently averaging 14.9 points (60% 2p) and 6.6 assists per game in the WNBA. Ogwumike was named last week’s player of the week in Western conference.
