Friendlies: Canada and France start with wins in France

Two games were played on Thursday.

Four nation tournament started on Thursday in France involving four teams preparing for the Olympic qualification tournament later this month.

Canada ousted Croatia behind sisters Alisha and Tamara Tatham. Alisha scored 11 points, Tamara – 10 as they led Canada to victory. This victory against a team likely also in the mix for one of the five spots in the Olympics.

In a replay of EuroBasket Women 2011 third place game the outcome was the same – France ousted Czech Republic. Unlike that time, there was plenty of support for Sandrine Gruda who herself today scored 13 points. Isabelle Yacoubou led all scorers with 18 points, Emmeline Ndongue added 12.
