LWB’s three stars from last day’s WNBA action.
1st star: Tanisha Wright, Seattle Storm
Tanisha Wright had her best game of the season to date. Having started it struggling and heavily underperforming, Wright scored 20 points for Storm in the win. 8 of them came from the freethrow line in the last 150 seconds. She also had 7 assists and 5 rebounds to her name.
2nd star: Katie Smith, Seattle Storm
Smith is currently shooting from distance better than her career average (40% vs 36%). Versus Silver Stars she was 3 from 6, including a big one inside the final two minutes of regulation. Smith finished the game with 13 points.
3rd star: Jia Perkins, San Antonio Silver Stars
Perkins was the only reliable offensive option for the Silver Stars. Coming from the bench she scored 20 points on 8 from 16 shooting. In fact she made 40% of her team’s made field goals.
Honorable mentions
Ann Wauters scored her 2000th career point… Sophia Young was 12 from 12 from the line, but could convert only 2 from 11 from the field… 6 Storm players scored in double digits.
Dishonorable mentions
Danielle Robinson had second consecutive subpar game, wouldn’t surprise if Perkins took her spot in the starting lineup soon… Danielle Adams was 2 from 9 from the field.
Scores:
Seattle Storm - San Antonio Silver Stars 82-76
