Pool Comense withdraws from Italian A1 league

Trend in Spain is being followed in Italy where Pool Comense has announced they will discontinue playing in Italian top league due to financial situation.

In club’s history, Comense have won 15 Italian league championships, 5 Italian Cups and 6 Italian Supercups. Last season Comense finished third behind Schio and Taranto.

Also close on their heels appears to be Basket Alcamo, who have a week to gather funds but it doesn’t look like it will happen.
