Russia cut Cherepanova, roster stands at 16

Despite originally planning to cut two players at the end of the camp in Latvia, Boris Sokolovsky has cut only power forward Maria Cherepanova.

Cherepanova last season played for Vologda Chevakata, averaging 9.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.

Final four cuts are planned to be made in a week – on July 12 after their second scrimmage against male college teams in Novogorsk, Russia.

Sokolovsky last week said that they have decided on 2/3 of the squad, which means that there are 8 players vying for final 4 spots.
