LWB’s three stars from last day’s WNBA action.
1st star: Sancho Lyttle, Atlanta Dream
Lyttle scored 31 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in Atlanta Dream’s double overtime win at Phoenix. Lyttle did it following two transcontinental flights during the past four days, to play for Spain against Sweden.
2nd star: Sylvia Fowles, Chicago Sky
Fowles had 24 points (11 from 13 field goals) and 16 rebounds for Sky, though, it wasn’t helpful enough because the Sky dropped a narrow decision at Indiana.
3rd star: Kara Lawson, Connecticut Sun
Lawson scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Connecticut Sun, who served Minnesota Lynx their third consecutive loss. Lawson was 7 from 12 from the field and 3 from 7 behind the arc.
Honorable mentions
Tiffany Hayes set a WNBA career record with 23 points in the absence of Angel McCoughtry… Kristi Toliver scored 23 points for the Los Angeles Sparks with Candace Parker scoring 17 and pulling down 14 rebounds… Asjha Jones and Tina Charles recorded double-double’s against Minnesota.

DeWanna Bonner was 8 from 28 (28% FG) from the field for the Mercury… Sue Bird sat out Seattle game with a hip injury… Tina Thompson was 4 from 13 before she left the floor with a knee injury… Renee Montgomery continues her very poor shooting season by making only 1 of 10 field goals against Minnesota… Rebbekah Brunson was 1 from 10 for Minnesota… Chicago Sky turned the ball over 24 times, with 8 players doing it 2 or more times.
