Turkey, Australia, Brazil all earn wins a week before Olympics

Turkish NT who host Croatia and USA, started their tourney with a win against the Croats.

Croatia couldn’t do much about Turkey down low where Nevriye Yilmaz and Quanitra Hollingsworth. Croatians were without center Marija Vrsaljko who today was attending a function hosted by the mayor of Zadar to say farewell to all of the local Olympians.

Asian champions China were outplayed by Australia at Gravelines, France. Lauren Jackson, Belinda Snell and Liz Cambage all scored in double digits for Australians.

Tournament hosts, the French, defeated the Castro Marques’less Brazilian NT. Sandrine Gruda led the way for France with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Clarissa Dos Santos scored 17 points for Brazil.
