European U16 Championships – Semifinals

Round-up of action on the semifinals of the European U16 Championships in divisions A and B.

Division A

An inspired fourth quarter gave Spain the win against Russia. Spain trailed for more than three quarters before taking over the lead in the middle of fourth and never giving it back.

Italy held a 19 point fourth quarter lead against Belgium and eventually allowed it to be narrowed down to 6 with 90 seconds remaining. Belgians were unable to score in the remaining time to make it a one possession game.

In the relegation round the final place in division A will be determined on Sunday between Serbia and Turkey who both won tonight. Germany’s loss will mean they will be relegated to division B.
