Phoenix Mercury have announced that power forward Candice Dupree has undergone a successful surgery on her left knee today.
Dupree sustained a knee injury on June 17 in the first quarter of the game against the Tulsa Shock and the team decided on surgery during the WNBA’s month-long hiatus after the knee failed to heal completely. The team’s second-leading scorer (14.8 points per game) missed six consecutive games following the injury. She returned to action July 7 playing nine minutes off the bench against the Atlanta Dream before shutting it down for the final three games of the first half of the season.
