Australian Olympic Team has named women’s basketball player Lauren Jackson as the Australian flag bearer at the Olympic game opening ceremony.
First reports of Jackson as the possible flag bearer appeared Thursday morning when Australian online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au suspended all bets on Australian who will be selected after in a short amount of time lots of money came in betting on Jackson.
Australian Olympic Team chef de mission Nick Green indeed confirmed that by that time the decision was made, though the name was officially announced in the evening at a team function.

Some believe this might be the final tournament with the Australian National Team for Jackson.
