Division A

Opening day of the European U18 championships featured 3 overtime games in which Sweden, Turkey and France prevailed.

The defending champions Belgians, now without Emma Meesseman, were routed by Serbia who ended up with a 28 point victory.

Probably due to two groups having five teams which will stretch the opening round by two days, only the to two teams from each group will advance to the second round. There the teams will be split in two groups, with top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals where 3 of those 4 teams will advance to the division A.

Closest games of the opening day of division B were played in Group C, where Belarus edged out Latvia by one point, and England defeated Macedonia by 4 points. Other six outcomes featured double digit victories.
