Greece, Hungary and Czech Republic have emerged as the top favorites to win promotion to division A after the fifth day of division B tournament.
Hungary has joined Greece as two teams that are undefeated after four games. Their fourth win came after a 22 point win against Romania behind Lilla Adamecz’s 19 points and 7 rebounds. Switzerland ensured they will not finish last after erasing 8 point fourth quarter deficit against Israel. Bar Galinski’s 22 point, 19 rebound effort was wasted in the Israeli loss.
Hosts Czechs are near the top after a win against the winless Bulgaria. Guard Renata Pudlakova led the Czech effort with 17 points. Belgium outscored Germany 15-3 in the final 5 minutes to earn their third win of the tournament and remain in the hunt for a top three finish. Emmanuella Mayombo scored 25 points for Belgium.
