European U20 Championship Division A – Semifinals

Spain and Russia will play for European U20 title.

Russia outhustled Netherlands in the second quarter as they pulled away in their semifinal. Alexandra Stolyar led the Russians in scoring with 16 points, Ksenia Tikhonenko picked up a double-double with 13 points and 17 rebounds.

Spain wasted a 16 point second quarter lead as they found themselves trailing by two in the fourth quarter. To win the game Spain finished it on a 10-0 run. Laura Gil was the top Spanish scorer with 12 points.

In the 5th to 8th place classification games Sweden defeated Ukraine despite 39 points by Alina Iagupova (on 33 FG’s). France doubled up on Belarus.

Poland played in their second double overtime game. This time they fell to Lithuania in 9th place classification game. Serbia defeated Slovak Republic for 11th place.
