U17 World Championship – Semifinals

Spain and USA will compete for the U17 championship in Amsterdam.

Canada provided some resistance to USA for the first 2 and a bit quarters before USA slowly but surely pulled away to claim a 25 point victory. Linnae Harper led all Americans with 11 points. Spain dominated Japan for three of the four quarters as they advanced to the final. Their tanking in the final first round game has obviously paid off as they have made the final as the third placed team from group B.

Italy will play Australia for the fifth place as both were victorious in their classification games. Marzia Tagliamento led Italy past Belgium with 18 points. Tiana Mangakahia scored 18 as Australia ousted the hosts Netherlands.

Korea claimed ninth place with a win against Mali while Turkey remained winless as they fell to Brazil who claimed eleventh place.
