Cras Taranto ink Gintare Petronyte, Ilaria Zanoni and Giulia Gatti

Cras Taranto has announced the signing of Lithuanian center Gintare Petronyte as well as Italian forward Ilaria Zanoni and guard Giulia Gatti.

Petronyte started last season with CCC Polkowice, who were disappointed in her play at let her go by Christmas. She finished the season in Lithuania with Kibirkstis-Tiche-IKI. There she averaged 19.1 points and 14.3 rebounds per game. Petronyte also helped Lithuanian NT to qualify for EuroBasket Women 2013 with 18.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in the qualifiers.

Both Gatti and Zanoni also were on their NT as they also qualified for EuroBasket Women. Zanoni last season was with Bracco Geas where she averaged 11.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. With Italian NT she was also one of the team leaders with 10.9 points and 2.9 rebounds per game this summer.

Gatti moves to Taranto from Pool Comense where she was averaging 6.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. In 7 games with Italian NT she averaged 4.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

Zanoni and Gatti will be presented to the media tomorrow.
