Vologda Chevakata sign Jasmine Thomas and Glory Johnson

According to their agency’s website, American players Jasmine Thomas and Glory Johnson have signed with Vologda Chevakata in Russia.

For Thomas this will be her second season in Europe while Johnson will make her debut.

Washington Mystics guard Thomas, last season played in Czech Republic for Frisco Brno. There she averaged 11.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in ELW and 12.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in Czech league. Currently with the Mystics this season she has produced 7.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.

Johnson was the fourth overall pick in this year’s WNBA draft for the Tulsa Shock where she’s currently trying to make a case for WNBA Rookie of the Year considerations. Currently she’s Shock’s third leading scorer with 11.8 points per game and she’s the team’s leading rebounder with 6.8 rebounds per game.

Chevakata finished fifth in the Russian league last season and fell to Dynamo Kursk in the semifinals of EuroCup Women.
