Wins for Fever, Liberty, Silver Stars and Sun on Wednesday

Seattle Storm took on Indiana Fever on a back-to-back without their starting backcourt of Sue Bird and Tanisha Wright. Outcome was a predictable 28 turnover night for Seattle without much flow on offense. As a result they scored just 28 points against Indiana who cruised to an easy win. Katie Douglas led Fever with 16 points, Svetlana Abrosimova was the only Storm player in double digits with 11 points.

Washington Mystics hung around for most of the game but were unable to make a run and upset the Liberty, much to the dismay of Chicago Sky. Liberty now has one more win in the standings and two more wins against conference foes than the Sky. Cappie Pondexter led the Liberty with 22 points, Nicole Powell added 15. Monique Currie led Mystics with 24 points.

San Antonio Silver Stars opened a 23 point lead in the first half which for the Tulsa Shock was insurmountable. They managed to claw back as near as 7 points down, but that was about it. The rest of the game the difference was about 10 points. Shameka Christon led 4 Silver Stars players in double digits. Glory Johnson continues to get attention in the ROY race with 18 points for Tulsa.

Phoenix Mercury have shut down Diana Taurasi for the season. They still played too good for 25 minutes so they had to stink it up for the last 15 to continue fighting for their lottery balls. After leading 56-54 at 4:41 in the third quarter, Mercury finished off the game 22:46 in the final 14 or so minutes. Also noteworthy was an Alexis Hornbuckle Flagrant 2 foul against Mistie Mims which meant she was ejected from the game. Pending a league review she can also be suspended.
