Latvian forward Liene Jansone has confirmed to sportacentrs.com, that she has signed with EuroLeague Women participants from Turkey – Tarsus.
It is very likely that this signing is only for EuroLeague Women, seeing as the team has long ago filled their two European player quota for Turkish league with Cindy Lima and Amaya Valdemoro. Though you never know with Cindy Lima’s knees.
Last season Jansone was also a teammate of Cindy Lima at Aix-en-Provence in France. There she averaged 9.7 points and 6 rebounds per game. This summer with the Latvian National Team Jansone averaged 13.5 points and 6.4 rebounds, ending up the team’s leading scorer as they qualified for EuroBasket Women 2013.
