Sue Bird to undergo surgery on her left hip

Seattle Storm have confirmed that point guard Sue Bird will undergo surgery on her left hip tomorrow.

Last year Bird had surgery on her right hip. Back then estimated period of recovery for her was 8-12 weeks. It should be similar this time, too.

Bird re-upped with UMMC and was set to join the team after New Year’s like she has for years. This surgery isn’t likely to change anything in that regard.

She played through that injury throughout most of  the latter part of the season, but did not use that as an excuse for the losses.
