Connecticut Sun limited most of the Indiana Fever scorers to claim first win of the Eastern conference finals.
The Fever started the game out better by getting a lot of open shots and making the Sun pay for that. The Sun adjusted that and did not allow nearly as as many if any open shots, making Indiana work for their shots. That reminded how Atlanta handled the Fever during the first game of Eastern semis.
Katie Douglas was the only Fever player in double digits with 27 points. Tamika Catchings could not get anything going against Connecticut’s post players, neither could Briann January mostly against Tan White and Renee Montgomery.
Tina Charles had a double-double for the Sun. Connecticut Sun, who are a better road team this season, can close out the series on Monday.
Indiana Fever – Connecticut Sun 64-76
Fever: Douglas 27, Larkins 9, Sutton-Brown 8
Sun: Charles 18 (15 reb), Lawson 16, White 13, Jones 11, Hightower 9
Connecticut leads the series 1-0.
