Minnesota advance to the WNBA Finals with a comeback win against Los Angeles

Despite Candace Parker exploding in game two of the Western conference finals, the Los Angeles Sparks were unable to defeat the defending champions Minnesota Lynx to extend the series.

Parker finished with 33 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocked shots.

Minnesota led through the start of the game before the Sparks went on a 17-0 run in the third quarter. Maya Moore had 8 points in the final quarter, Seimone Augustus added 6 as the Lynx battled back from a 13 point deficit.

With the game coming down to final possessions it was Monica Wright who made the last shot – an open three pointer for the lead with a bit more than a minute to go. After three missed shots it came down to the final possession with LA having the ball. Alana Beard, a left handed player, drove to her right, was double-teamed and missed a contested off-balance jumper.
