Undefeated French league club Nantes Reze has announced (via catch&shoot) the signing of veteran Latvian forward Gunta Basko-Melnbarde.
Basko is set to replace Belorussian win Tatyana Troina who has injured her knee. While there has been no official MRI confirmation, it is believed the season will be over for her.
She started last season in Latvia, before joining EuroCup Women winning side Dynamo Kursk. In ECW she averaged 3.3 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. In Russian Premiere League she averaged 4.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
Basko-Melnbarde has previously played in France for Lattes Montpellier and Tarbes.
