Fenerbahce win their eight Turkish President’s Cup

Playing at almost full strength, Fenerbahce defeated very shorthanded Galatasaray to claim their eight Turkish President’s Cup.

Only player Fenerbahce were lacking in this game was Agnieszka Bibrzycka. Galatasaray on the other hand were without Lindsay Whalen, Sancho Lyttle, Alba Torrens and Nevriye Yilmaz. According to reports, Sylvia Fowles was far from healthy going in to this game with not fully treated calf injury.

Despite that and the final score, Galatasaray offered more resistance as you would think, but ultimately were outplayed by the currently superior talent on Fenerbahce.

Overall both teams were very rusty, with lots of room for improvement as it would be expected at the start of the season.

With their eight President’s Cup win, Fenerbahce have now tied Galatasaray for most.
