Wisla Can-Pack general manager Piotr Dunin-Suligostowski answered questions to wislaportal.plabout the team’s foreigners Tina Charles and Katie Douglas.

On Tina Charles:

…Athletes like the MVP of the WNBA – which Charles is – has many responsibilities, including the ones related to the presentation of public image of the league. Additionally this matter is complicated because at the end of the month there is a very important WNBA board and team owner meeting regarding the future of the WNBA. Their wish is to have their best athletes present during that meeting in support of the league. We know many athletes will not participate in this meeting, some are already in Russia, still we’ll settle these things, negotiate them. We would like for Tina Charles to be in Krakow by October 31, for the game against Uni Gyor.

On Katie Douglas:

We are in a possession of a detailed medical information about her injury, including the results of an MRI. I can not reveal too much, but the situation is not like it’s reported on some sites. This is not a light injury, her absence will not be short. Her return to practicing and playing is not a matter of days or weeks. Right now I can tell you that this injury will have consequences on us. I am in negotiations with her agent to look for a solution to this problem. A possible solution is to find another high level WNBA player, who could replace Katie while she’s unavailable to play…

…At this time there are various forecasts following her medical assessment,  but  she will definitely need to have a break of at least one month….
