Australian club Townsville Fire has confirmed that American forward Shanavia Dowdell as parted with the team and will return to USA this week.
Homesickness has been cited as the reason for this decision by her.
In five games this season she was averaging 8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Last season she was named to WNBL All Star Five team thanks to a 15.9 point and 9.3 rebounds season with Townsville.
The team is in a search for a replacement.
