After getting eliminated in the quarterfinals last year, Bourges Basket did not slip up this time around, winning the French Cup with a win over Villeneuve d’Ascq in the final.

In the first three quarters both squads were evenly matched with Bourges holding a narrow lead up to four points. That changed in the fourth quarter with Bourges going on a 7-2 run to extend the lead to game high nine points, which would see them through.

Forward Endene Miyem was named the MVP of the final with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Emmeline Ndongue in one of the final games of her career (she has 3 games left at most), scored 14 points and had 6 rebounds.

Villeneuve d’Ascq were led by young Belgian post Emma Meesseman, who scored 13 points in her last game with the team.

For Bourges this is the eighth French Cup win and the first since 2010.
