UMMC Ekaterinburg has announced the addition of two players – Spanish wing Alba Torrens and Russian center Natalia Anoikina.
They also have confirmed that Ann Wauters (already signed with Villeneuve d’Ascq in France), Sue Bird, Anete Jekabsone-Zogota and Anna Petrakova will not return next season.
Torrens joins Ekat after a bounce back season with Galatasaray, averaging 13.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. What likely sealed the deal in Ekat’s interest in her were the 29 points she scored on them in the EuroLeague Women semifinal as Galatasaray upset Ekat.
27 year old Russian center (1.96m) Anykina made her debut in EuroLeague Women this season with Nadezhda Orenburg. She averaged 8.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, becoming the team’s second leading Russian player in scoring.
